Jeepin' for Healin' Trail Ride 2005

This is a Jeep Trail Ride Event sponsored by Capitol Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Willimantic,CT to benefit Windham Hospital's new emergency wing extension. There was a $35 entry fee, plus $15 extra for additional passengers. Both trails were limited to 25 Jeeps per trail. The sun was shining and it made for a great day of trail riding. We had 2 trails to choose from. Trail "A" was to be held in Nipmuck State Forest, Union,CT.  While Trail "B" was held on private property in Lisbon,CT, and also featured an Extreme Rock Crawling demonstration put on by some members of the Eastern 4 Wheelers Club. The Eastern 4 Wheelers Club also assisted us into the Nipmuck State Forest.

Jeff's '89 Jeep XJ 4x4 - built to be punished!

This is my '89 Jeep Cherokee XJ Laredo 4x4. I bought it for $500, and it has close to $5000 into it. I think I had the smallest, non-lifted Jeep in our group.

These are some of the other participants who attended the trail ride event. Notice their lifted rides, each one is built with a certain terrain type in mind.

Not all the vehicles here were Jeeps. This father & son team drove these two german ex-military vehicles called Pinz-Gauers. They chose to drive on Trail "B". Mud was a little deep that day, as evidenced by the fresh goo on the undercarriage.

Over the hills and through the woods....................

Alan's
A Willys Flatfender - ooohh, I think I'm in love!!!

As a driver, it's hard to take pictures and drive at the same time. So I had to "sit" the camera either on the dash while driving, or rest it on the driver's side door while looking where I'm going !
